Sariya and Re: announced in their blogs today that their Nico Singer collaboration group will no longer be together. It seems that Sariya and Gazelle got into a fight, which ultimately led to their decision to break up. For what reasons that caused Gazelle’s uncharacteristic outburst is not really known. On March 31, all of their videos will be taken down, so watch ‘em now while you can. Luckily, some of them have been uploaded onto YouTube by this guy.
It was only a week ago that I started to enjoy their work, too… It’s really too bad.

Also, Sariya seems to have switched to her own vocal + piano collab with pianist AS; together they form Sweet Simple Little World. A mini live event was held last Thursday; you can see a small clip of the humorous opening number on the site (under the Little World tab). And yes, the audience did get to see her face(!). She’s currently working on a PV for one of her songs, as well. Anyway, for now we can only hope for recovery later on, at least as just friends.

As the release date for her new single draws closer, the PV for the title song has been released on Gyao, as Minorin states in her blog. But, you can also find the PV on Nico, in all its hand waving glory:

In other news, said blog recently has received a small make over (again) and she recorded Chiaki’s character song. This weekend will also mark the last days of her 1st tour. Hopefully the audience will control themselves in accordance to the notice or we may not get to see her in concert again…

While everyone has been preoccupied with the great Kumikyoku “Nico Nico Douga” (組曲『ニコニコ動画』), the b-side track has been fairly quite under my radar (shame on me!). I only noticed this video when it appeared in this week’s Nico Douga Ranking, but the song actually debuted back in September. What I heard was sheer brilliance; much more so than the masterpiece medley and especially more than Lantis’.

The song is 3 minutes shorter, but just makes it that more upbeat. I’d also like to mention how clever a lot of the music transitions are in this song (BRAVE PHOENIX to Megare Spectacle without skipping a beat? Ingenious. ) Interestingly, most of the singers that have done their variations are not well known, only a few of them have been noted before. Probably the most known singer of the Urakumikyoku is タイシオン; J 2.0 but less screaming and moar lulz (oh, and he sounds like L and kiwami at the same time).

Well… sort of. Mostly re-edited screenshots, but you have to admit that you’d really want to see KyoAni take this on. Not to mention that the re-dub track for Kyonko and Yuuki is included.

The plain re-dub track without the animation made the tea drinking sound very…suggestive. Yes, the gender bending madness still fulfills my high. I sort of wish Kyonko didn’t sound so much like Haruhi, though… Read more
