I’m ashamed to say I have nothing to give Minorin on her lovely 28th birthday, but I’ve come back here just to say お誕生日おめでとう! (Yeah, I wasn’t on hiatus… just er, busy. Yes.) A couple of nicochans have also given their gratitude as well.

Houkoholic made an informal post about her fanclub exclusive birthday event. Well, as informal as he could make it, what with the unfortunate setup and what have you. While the rest of the blogosphere raises their cups in light of this glorious day. Minorin was estatic to know she’s gracing the cover of Seiyuu Grand Prix’s December issue, despite having her tagline quite litterally saying she’s a sparkly thing in a heap of poo. I’ve sent an agent to retrieve the mag for me regardless, hopefully with the poster the stores give out (maybe to replace the Hirano one I have on the wall now). But who cares about the details, right?

I hope Minorin has a nice, slow day tomorrow, preferrably with family or friends and such. I’ll await for your album grace its presence in my mailbox (ooer).

First of all, apologies for my no show these pass few weeks. There’s been a lot of things I’d like to blog about (ish) but I just haven’t gotten the time or creative juices flowing. I’m also enrolled in more classes than ever. orz

Yes, I’m off to Japan in 12hrs time — my first time nonetheless. Granted, I’ll be stopping by the land of my fathers, Vietnam, before I step on the land of the rising sun. Actually, the majority of the trip will be spent in Vietnam, but I’m not complaining. I’ll be sure to buy lots of fake designer clothes in Saigon. I’m also staying at a shnazzy 5-star resort, thanks to my dad. Time to tan up! Oh, and I’ll visit relatives and what not.

I’m still not sure what exactly we’re going to do in Japan, but I know I’ll stay 3 days in Tokyo, 2 days in Kyoto, and 2 days in Osaka. I’m pretty sure I’ll have enough time to stop by Akihabara, but I don’t buy a lot of merchandise in the first place. I’ll probably only get seiyuu CDs or mags. I know there is this event that Minorin and Hocchan will be doing while I’m in Japan, but it’s for Druaga and I could care less about the series. wwww

So, I’ll see you guys in 3 weeks. :)

PS: I got my Minorin DVD on Wednesday, but I’m too lazy to review it. I’ll just say that any Minorin fan should get it, even just for witnessing Jyunpaku Sanctuary - acoustic version- and Minorin’s tears of joy. Limited Editions get a delicious poster, too.

AniSama Live launched their 2008 website today; the theme for this year is Challenge. It will be held at the Saitama Super Arena and it will be held over two days–Saturday August 30th and Sunday, August 31st. So far the announced performers are:

[8/30] ALI PROJECT, GRANRODEO, Kuribayashi Minami, Chihara Minori, and Mizuki Nana
[8/31] Ishikawa Chiaki, JAM Project, Domestic Loveband (angela), Hirano Aya, and Moimoi Haruko.
Advanced lottery registration begins 4/14 and ends 4/28. Tickets are ￥7,500 per day. Regular sale date starts 6/21.

It seems that there will be some coverage to come on the Nico Channel as well, as expected of dwango. More info can be found on the website.

Minorin’s site announced that the last performance of her 1st Live Tour (3/23) was recorded, thus will be released on DVD. The sale date will be 6/25 for a small price of ￥5,000.

As the release date for her new single draws closer, the PV for the title song has been released on Gyao, as Minorin states in her blog. But, you can also find the PV on Nico, in all its hand waving glory:

In other news, said blog recently has received a small make over (again) and she recorded Chiaki’s character song. This weekend will also mark the last days of her 1st tour. Hopefully the audience will control themselves in accordance to the notice or we may not get to see her in concert again…

Some of you may have wondered what that “???” part of the navigation on Minorin’s site was. Well, as most have speculated, she announced on her blog that she will open an official fanclub called 「m.s.s」, short for minori smile seasons. It will open 4/1, although like most fanclubs, you’ll probably need to supply an address of your residence in Japan since shipping overseas is hassle. The page is up already, however.
I’m pretty sure this isn’t an April Fool’s Joke… right?

Other than that, you can catch a sample of Minorin’s new single, 「melty tale storage」, on Moontube, which was played on her weekly lantis radio show 「minorhythm」. And Saturday was her last tour performance for February. Hopefully those who attend the March dates will get to here the new single live. It’ll be out 3/26.
